ASUS, TP-Link, and Netgear simultaneously launch their first consumer Wi-Fi 7 routers under €200, after months of enterprise-only models. Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be) promises theoretical speeds of 46 Gbit/s and sub-1ms latency.

What Wi-Fi 7 Actually Changes

  • Multi-Link Operation (MLO): simultaneous connection across multiple bands
  • 320 MHz channels on the 6 GHz band
  • 4× lower latency than Wi-Fi 6E
  • Up to 16 simultaneous spatial streams

In practice, early tests show real-world speeds of 8–12 Gbit/s on Wi-Fi 7, roughly 3× faster than Wi-Fi 6E. The impact is particularly noticeable for 8K streaming, cloud gaming, and NAS transfers.
