Why Is This 1,000 Qubit Milestone Crucial?
Below a few hundred qubits, errors accumulate too quickly for useful computation. Beyond 1,000 stable qubits, error correction algorithms become practical, opening the door to molecular chemistry, logistics optimization, and post-quantum cryptography.
Condor Pro is the first quantum system capable of running Shor and Grover algorithms on non-trivial instances.
IBM plans to make this processor available through IBM Quantum Cloud by end of 2026, with priority access for Quantum Network program partners.
