Netflix has announced a €2/month increase on its Premium plan, the only tier that unlocks 4K, HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. The platform cites continued investment in streaming infrastructure as the reason for the hike.
What the 4K Plan Actually Includes
Unlike some competitors, Netflix still caps peak 4K bitrate at around 16 Mbit/s, versus over 25 Mbit/s for some rivals. HDR10 is supported across nearly the entire recent catalog, but Dolby Vision remains limited to a selection of in-house productions.
- Premium 4K plan: +€2/month
- Peak 4K bitrate capped around 16 Mbit/s
- Dolby Atmos available on a growing number of titles
- 4 simultaneous screens included, versus 2 on the Standard plan
For households with an OLED TV or a Dolby Atmos setup, the Premium plan still makes sense — but the perceived quality gap with the Standard HD plan keeps shrinking as lower-tier average bitrates improve.
